About Me

Laurie: Maryland, United States; I am a middle-aged woman who was married for 30 years (a long time!) and divorced in 2006 after a bitter separation. My ex-husband was disabled with MS. He used his MS as an excuse. I refuse to be bitter or angry. I don't want to waste the rest of my life worrying about things I can't change. I do want to try to find a way to help others who may be in a similar situation as I was. There was no help or support for me or my children. Does MS cause mental illness? I do not know,I only know what I lived with. Can a person pretend to be someone they aren't? Can you ever really know anyone? I only know what happened to me. It was a rude awakening, a hard truth I'm still trying to deal with. What is love? Does it make everything alright? It didn't for me. I loved, I was hurt, I loved more, it got worse. I have learned I'm stronger than I ever thought I was. I've learned to appreciate every moment, every day for what it is. A second chance.
