You asked me an excellent question which I didn't answer. Would I rather be him?  Here is my answer:  No, I would not rather be him.  I'm sure that is the answer you wanted, but the REASONS I would not rather be him are not the reasons you think.

I would not rather be him for these reasons:

1)  He was an angry person
2)  He was a negative person
3)  He lied about everything
4)  He did not know what true love was, he pretended to love
5)  He and His family believe they are somehow special and better than everyone else
6)  His sister has no empathy for anyone, not even her own brother
7)  His family can't see they hurt him more than anyone else
8)  His family are selfish
9)  His family left him uncared for and did not visit him once they stopped pretending they cared about him
10)  His family treat each other the same way they treated me.
11)  They do not take responsibility for their actions and blame other people, everything is always someone else's fault.
12) His family do care about what things look like to others, and in that respect they carefully make sure they look good to other people on the outside.
13)  His family care more about money and things than people
14)  His family believe in "getting their digs in" which amounts to revenge.
15)  His family constantly find fault with and talk about everyone behind their backs.
16)  His family treated their niece and nephews the same way the treated me, they were incapable of separating their anger at me in order to do what was best for them.
17)  Which leads to me to what they do to their own children, they even blame them for something they did instead of taking responsibility. What kind of person lies about their own child rather than admit they did something morally wrong? Why would I want to be a part of that family?
18)  His family NEVER say they are sorry, to anyone, ever.

Is this someone you would rather be?  Forget the fact that he had MS, that didn't even enter into my reasons.  His having MS is no excuse for what  he did, and what you did.   That's my answer to your question.
